How to Be Happy With Your Skin

Many of us gripe over pigmentation, minor breakouts, and wrinkles. One of the things that is most interesting to me as a practicing esthetician is that often times we think our imperfections are much more noticeable than they actually are. Many a time I’ve had a client complain of a quality in their skin and I barely noticed it – and I look at and think about skin all day long!

My point is this – it’s important to embrace your imperfections. Hardly anyone is flawless. Even celebrities struggle with skin shortcomings – Brad Pitt with acne scars, Victoria Beckham with large pores, Cameran Diaz with hyperpigmentation. These are some of the most beautiful people in the world – and still so even with these flaws!

When I was in grade school, I used to hate my freckles. I wanted to find some cream to take them right off. But now – I absolutely LOVE them! And I love when I see them on other people too. Just because you have a scar, freckles, moles, pigmentation, a pimple, or larger pores, does not mean you’re not gorgeous or handsome inside and out. Flaws are beautiful and they add character, so do the best you can to achieve that clear complexion and as for the rest – embrace your imperfections!
